Dear Briar Hill Family,
I am happy to announce that we will resume gathering for worship on Sunday Morning, June 7, 2020. We have been meeting with our Leadership Team for a few weeks and have formulated some plans that we feel will allow us to meet on a limited basis as a church in a safe manner.
We will have one service in the Sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. The seating will be limited to the first 100 persons that call the office to reserve a seat, or fill out the form that will be available below. More information on how to do that will follow later. I am so sorry that reservations are necessary, but we must know how many are coming so that we can plan accordingly. Much of what we are doing is a result of the survey you took. We will be expanding our opportunities as the weeks go by.
Please do not come for worship if you are sick, running fever, have a persistent cough, or not feeling well. If you know you have been exposed to anyone with any sickness, please do not attend. Those with pre-existing or underlying problems should stay home for these early phases of opening. This includes anyone considered to be in a high-risk category.
Some things that we are doing are measures recommended by the Governor’s office and other entities that have provided us with information and resources.
We will rope off the sanctuary in a way that makes it easy for you and others to practice social distancing. Ushers will be available to help seat you. I ask that families sit together and that we not be moving around the sanctuary any more than is necessary. Only the front double doors to the sanctuary will be open.
We will not pass the plates for an offering time. We ask that you not shake hands or hug. We will not have a paper bulletin. We will not have coffee available. All restrooms will be closed with the exception of the two small ones off the foyer area. We will have no choir. The service will be an hour or less.
We will not provide childcare and we expect all children to sit with their family. We will not have Sunday School at this time and will watch to see when it is appropriate for us to begin meetings like that again. There will be no Sunday or Wednesday evening services on campus yet.
Services, programs, and other events will open gradually as we determine the best ways to do so safely.
We encourage you to wear a mask if you have one and if not, we will have a limited number available for you at the door. Sanitation stations are already in place in the foyer for your use.
Please seek the Lord concerning your attendance and make wise decisions for your situation. We will continue to broadcast our services as we have in the past. For those interested you can come in your car, remain in the car on the lot, and tune your radio to 91.7 FM. This is a low power signal that you can only hear on the lot. Facebook, Youtube, RightNow Media, and our website live stream broadcasts will continue.
I know that you have many questions right now. I hope that this will be enough information for you to make decisions concerning your church attendance. We will share more information as we get it. Your leadership team is very aware of your concerns and desires. We will work diligently to get us to the place of worship we all long for. Until then, remain flexible and remember you are the church no matter where you are!
